Chicken Costume Emi Chicken Costume - Mia

Here are a few pictures I took on Saturday from around the neighborhood, sans my international neighbors. (One of my neighbors calls our street “The United Nations” because of the diversity.) There were plenty of people around on the streets, riding bikes, running around the playground, or just taking a stroll. But I’m not too comfortable including them in my pictures.

I found an artist through Utata’s flickr discussion, the Sunday Salon. Bill Sullivan takes pictures of people in everyday settings without them knowing it, kind of like a wildlife photographer but with people. He has a series on people going through a subway turnstile. It’s interesting but I don’t think I’d be too happy if my mug was in his gallery. How would you feel?

Lonely Gas Station

The kids had a lot of fun. Emi was enjoying the swings in her own special way. Mia was soaking in all the sights and sounds on her wagon ride. The last picture is of the gas station down the street. It looks so clean at night.
